The Motto of 2012

01.02.2012

WELCOME TO REALITY

The motto ”Welcome to Reality” of Zurich Pride 2012 is to wake up, pointing out and the view of the current problems.

Much has been achieved, such as the Partnership Act in Switzerland or an adoption law for same-sex couples in some European countries.

Nevertheless, we must continue to fight - but that is not aware of all!

Today’s problems in a superficial world of appearances are quickly forgotten or simply suppressed. Thus young homosexuals, whose outing is not accepted by family and friends struggling with mental illness often because the support is lacking. Homosexuality is still in private-sector environment as a career brake. It is missing in Switzerland on a discrimination law, so keep the media insults homosexuals by the Wallis SVP impunity.

Not only in our country it is still to fight abuses. How are gay people in other regions of the world. In Africa and the Middle East people are killed because of their homosexuality or put in jail for years. People are forced to flee from their countries and want to apply for asylum, must take an inhuman and difficult process.

All of this we should be aware, if we can make our lives openly and freely. And show us just use a little bit, just a little courage, so that all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people is possible.

With a focus on human rights this year, the Zurich Pride Festival put together with the national main organization Pink Cross and LOS to ensure that all get their dues.

Welcome to reality - there is still much to do outside your own world!

ANGELS KITSCH PARTY – A FAIRY TALE

21.01.2012

The Kitsch Party 2012 will be a lively tale with all the fabulous creatures and characters inwhich we can transform ourselves for the evening.
The motto should pretty much every trick to dress up too, which of course is not mandatory, but it would be nice anyway. It will become exclusive the theme of this year’s Zurich Pride presents!

Culty and kitschy of course are the DJ’s set that night: The Zurich-Lollypop DJ’s Wollana & Rolly waiting for you at the top floor of the tale-castle “Volkshaus” with disco beats and hits.

In the large ballroom set DJ F-Junior and DJ Micky Friedmann on. So let yourself beenchanted by the sounds and dives into this glamorous and kitschy world …

Dear Community,
dear friends of the Zurich Pride

A successful Zurich Pride 2011 is behind us, and we can be proud of it as everything is up. We are pleased to have received many positive feedback from the community and must say that this year’s event was another memorable milestone in the longstanding tradition of Pride events in Zurich.

Although Petrus was not always on our side, this festival was once again a complete success. This is shown by the numerous pictures that are circulating on the Web. The premiere of Pride Week has shown us that there is still potential, and we determined in 2012, expect more activities.

The Zurich Pride depends heavily on the great dedication from the many volunteers from the LGBT community. Preparation and implementation require a massive deployment of people who sacrifice their time to this cause and committed themselves unselfishly for the benefit of the Zurich Pride.

We hope you have many good memories of this year’s Zurich Pride. Wear your continued enthusiasm on the Pride 2012 is again a great success.

Be warmly greeted.

Nathalie Schaltegger
President
